Amplification : This R 'n' B video is an example of amplification, as Justin Timberlake is clearly getting his revenge towards Britney Spears. For example, "Cry me a river", the rain at the beginning of the video represents Britney's tears. Towards the middle and the end of the video, the meaning is exageratted, to an extent where Justin himself video records himself with another girl, kissing. Then at the video he recorded plays on Britney's television, getting his revenge back.

Disjuncture : This pop video is clearly a good example of disjuncture, as Michael Jackson is talking about the suffering going on in todays world.The line "if you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change" illustrates that he wants to help the countries that are going through difficult situations.

Illustration : This Hip hop video is a clear example of illustration, as Jay-z is talking about his childhood, the different place he grew up in. And to illustrate this pictures where used. For example the line, "Home of that boy Biggie", is illustrate with a picture of Jay-z and Biggie performing on stage, at 41 seconds. When it comes to the chorus of the video (57 seconds), "Now you're in New York!!! These streets will make you feel brand new, the lights will inspire you", illustrates what the song is about, and pictures of new york and the lights are shown in this.
